If you have looked around the internet at all,you have seen the high prices of subwoofers and may not be pleased with what you are seeing. Especially if you are on a budget like myself. These days it is more important than ever to save money on everything possible.

Let’s first take a look at what we already know – the Onkyo skw204 Bass Reflex Powered Subwoofer Black is very reasonably priced for the specs that it provides. The speakers claims to put out some great deep bass and says that it will allow you to enjoy the experience of a subwoofer without paying a huge amount. There has been a a few mixed feelings on this issue and I have looked over the different opinions.
There was one user that said he loved the system and it had the ability to put out high quality bass without that “one note” sound that many other liked-priced subwoofers. As you know there is almost nothing more annoying than thinking you have a great buy and then finding out that even thought you saved some money you won’t be getting the experience you had hoped for.
This system seems to have a little problem when it gets cranked up loud. The box and the grill begin to rattle if the volume is too high – I’m not sure what the “too high” is but from all of the other feedback I am guessing you have to crank it up considerably loud to have this problem. The way I see if is if you are interested in a normal movie and music experience such as in the theater you should be safe… however,if you are interested in having a very loud rocking party you may want to invest in another speaker without the rattle at high volumes.
If you are running a lot of wires over your this speaker you may have a problem since this speaker is pretty sensitive to other wires that run nearby or over it’s own wires. As I said before though,it’s a preference thing. If you do not want or need to run wires over it,there is no worry about this con of the Onkyo skw204 Bass Refle Powered Subwoofer Black.
In my opinion ( and others ),all in all this is a great speaker for the price and even if you are on a budget you should be able to afford it.
