Have you ever gone out to look at electric guitar amps? If so then you know that the price range is huge. This makes it hard to choose what kind of amp you should get. Because of this huge price range, you might be confused as to what amp is best for you. There are some people who can get away with purchasing a cheap guitar amp. If that is you, then it is suggested you use the money you saved to buy something else for your guitar. Below I will go over the kinds of people that can purchase a cheap guitar amp with no problem.

Beginners

If you are a beginner, then it is highly recommended you get a cheap guitar amp. We obviously don’t want a rookie to be spending big money when he is still in the learning process. When you learn, you are bound to have a mishap with the amp. You don’t want to have a mishap with a really expensive amp! If you blow out a speaker on a cheap amp it is not a huge deal. But if you paid a ton of money for that amp and you ruined it, you are going to be mad.

Practicing

If you are not planning on doing a whole lot of performances in front of a lot of people then you can get away with purchasing a cheap guitar amp. It has actually been advised that when you practice you should do so with a cheaper amp than what you are planning on playing in concerts with. The reason for this is because the concert amp will always sound better. Once you decide you and your band are ready to perform in front of a lot of people then it is time to move on to the more expensive amps.

There are many cheap guitar amps that are of good quality. Yes, these amps may be a bit smaller, but they will give you a ton of benefits. For the majority of guitar players out there, getting a cheap amp is perfect. However, if you are an advanced player I don’t see the point in getting one.
